Entrepreneurs across the West Midlands are tapping in to a new regional website which aims to offers guidance on alternative finance to boost their businesses.

The West Midlands operations that make up the Fair Finance Consortium (FFC) have reported 16,500 page visits to www.fair-finance.net in the first 60 days since the website was launched.

The FFC is made up of 11 commercial lenders, all of whom are independent from banks, whose loan products range from #500 up to #50,000.

The funds are tailored to meet the needs of new startups and existing businesses, including social enterprises and other ethical organisations that may lack traditional investment from banks, and businesses operating in some of the region's more disadvantaged areas and communities.

George Keenan, Head of Development for the Fair Finance Consortium, said: "Details of the FFC lenders are now located under one electronic roof."

Mike Watts, Business Finance Executive at Advantage West Midlands, which has provided support to the FFC with backing from the European Development Fund, said: "The Agency has a key priority to help create an entrepreneurial and enterprising culture in the region."
