For the eighth year running, the annual Cognitor golf tournament for Acorns Children’s Hospice has delivered a significant donation amounting to over £7,000.

The organiser, Graham Eden, MD at Cognitor said: “It has become an immoveable feast for us because clients are keen to support year after year, many already having put their names down for 2009. There is also the desire to beat the previous total, important because of the rising costs of running a hospice.”

Cognitor, the accountancy and business advice consultancy has raised in excess of £40,000. The 2008 event attracted 28 teams and Hammonds got the winners’ trophy, a replica of the Claret Jug at the Open. The weather was kind for the match at Moseley Golf Club in the company of pro-golfer and co-organiser Neil Selwyn-Smith.
