A new online booking system has been launched to help make it easier for visitors wanting to stay in Coventry and Warwickshire.
CV One, the not-for-profit company which manages and promotes the region, has revamped its website, www.visitcoventry.co.uk, Hertfordshire-based New Vision Group has developed a data management system (DMS) for CV One to improve its booking service for visitors looking to make reservations at accommodation venues in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Jason Smith, marketing executive at CV One, said the DMS was designed to give visitors more choice and better service and help the company be more effective and efficient.
"Until now all internet users have been able to do on our website is search through a list of accommodation providers in the area and either telephone the venue themselves or fill in a form to send to the Tourist Information Centre who would book the stated hotel or bed and breakfast free of charge," he said.
"The new system will allow people to search more comprehensively and more specifically as well as make their booking on line via a secure payment system. This will still be a free service.
"There is added advantage for our accommodation providers as they are able to key in their own details and update it with room availability and special offers.
"It gives accommodation providers a greater deal of control to market their own properties and gives visitors a greater degree of choice and access to accommodation within the region."
Jason and CV One's marketing projects manager, Penny Tyler, have been busy training its accommodation establishments on how to use the system.
"There has been a lot of hard work behind the scenes making sure all the data is up-to-date as this information will then be forwarded to Visit Britain to be displayed on its main web-site, giving us greater international coverage," Penny added.
"The next step is to improve the way we publicise our events on the website since these can then be fed through to the Visit Britain website.
"The DMS will help CV One take further steps forward to improve our services as a destination, marketing and promotions company."
