The West Midlands automotive supply chain has been urged to show the world that it is still very much a global force by taking part in the sixth annual Accelerate Awards.
Component manufacturers from across the region have until the end of June to register their interest in the competition, which is designed to promote innovation, state-oftheart manufacturing and sustainable growth.
Held at the Birmingham International Convention Centre on October 6, the event will also look to celebrate the major advancements currently taking place in the sector, including the launch of 42 volt systems and the application of hybrid technology.
Rachel Eade, programme manager, said: "Developments at MG Rover and Powertrain have, to a certain extent, created yet another burst of doom and gloom, but it would be absolutely foolish to ignore the major strides forward we have taken. "Our supply chain has shown a real hunger to succeed and embrace globalisation over the past 12 months and we have seen some remarkable achievements from the likes of Sertec and WH Smith & Sons."
Over 25 nominations have already been received from some of the biggest manufacturers and Tier 1 companies in the industry. There will be prizes for the best large and small SME in the region.
Companies need to be nominated for the awards by either an automotive customer or suppliers by the closing date of June 30. Forms are available from Luese Spanou on 0121 607 1883 or by e-mailing. email@example.com.
