March proved to be another busy month at Birmingham International Airport with 674,353 passengers travelling through the two terminals - an increase of 2.4 per cent on the same month last year.

Scheduled traffic grew by 4.2 per cent overall, with particular growth experienced on services to the Indian sub-continent which rose by 30.7 per cent.

Growth was also experienced on domestic services which saw a 1.4 per cent rise and on Irish flights were up by 15.9 per cent .

Scheduled routes that experienced growth include, Geneva (up 111.6 per cent), Brest (up 88.9 per cent) and Gothenburg (up 86.7 per cent). Scheduled traffic accounted for 80.9 per cent of the total passenger traffic in February.
