Midland supercar maker Aston Martin is aiming to produce “the most exclusive pram in the world”.

But the Warwickshire luxury car manufacturer’s first foray into the pram-making market will set stylish mothers back by a cool £2,000.

It’s a far cry from designing James Bond’s motors at their Gaydon works, but bosses pledge their luxury pram will ensure babies are neither shaken or stirred.

The world-famous firm teamed up with bespoke pram makers Silver Cross to design the Silver Cross Surf – Aston Martin edition, complete with the car company’s iconic ‘spread wings’ logo on spoked wheels.

It’s dubbed the world’s most exclusive pram and parents better be prepared to ‘Q’. Only 800 have been made, all bearing serial numbers, and they go on sale at Harrods in April.

The bumper bar and handle are trimmed with soft leather, the seat padded with luxury material Alcantara and there’s ‘air-ride’ suspension.

An Aston Martin spokesman said: “Silver Cross has a long tradition of providing the finest for new families.

“The Silver Cross Surf – Aston Martin Edition has taken inspiration from our own expertise in engineering and design, with many of the materials and techniques used on the pram also used in our own Aston Martin interiors.

“We warmly welcome the Silver Cross Surf – Aston Martin Edition into the Aston Martin Lifestyle Collection.”

Owners receive a certificate of authenticity and chrome plaque. A carry-cot is also thrown in.

Silver Cross chairman Alan Halsall said: “I am thrilled that Silver Cross and Aston Martin are working together and have produced this brand new, totally exclusive pram which is a great testament to two of the most famous British brands.”
