Midland law firm Challinors and the Birmingham branch of the Federation of Master Builders have between them raised £10,000 for the Tiny Babies Big Appeal, run by the Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust Charities.

The campaign provides financial support for the continued development and support of the new neonatal centre which opened in September 2010 and which cares for more than 1,000 premature and sick babies a year.

The £7 million unit was built to meet the needs of the growing number of sick and premature babies born across Birmingham, the West Midlands and the region.

Challinors’ Midlands fundraising committee has run a packed programme of events from dress down days, cake sales, raffles and donations, to staff and lawyers sponsored to run the Birmingham Half Marathon, to raise £5,000.

The FMB Birmingham branch, of which Challinors’ partner Peter McHugh is president, has matched the sum from its own fundraising activities, to create the total £10,000 donation going to Tiny Babies.
