The Dixie Strollers will swing into Cadbury World for Birmingham International Jazz and Blues Festival

The jazz band will be visiting the Cadbury venue on Saturday, July 13, as part of the city's massive festival.

The London-based seven-piece band will be performing three shows throughout the afternoon in the Bournville attraction’s marquee, and will be joined by Cadbury World’s family entertainers to keep everybody moving and grooving.

The Dixie Strollers’ quirky New Orleans style music has seen them play at some of London’s major jazz venues including Ronnie Scott’s, The Vortex, and the 606 Jazz Club, as well as at the London Jazz Festival and Royal Albert Hall.

The band boasts a front line of trumpet, clarinet and trombone as well as a four-piece rhythm section. The Dixie Strollers cite the likes of the Alex Welsh Band and Lois Armstrong as its major musical influences.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming The Dixie Strollers and can’t wait to see our visitors up on their feet dancing along to their uplifting music.”

In addition to enjoying jazz and family entertainment, visitors will have the chance to explore Cadbury World’s 14 zones.

You can climb on board the magical Cadabra ride for a gentle journey through a chocolate wonderland and then have a go at writing your name in smooth liquid chocolate in the Demonstration Area.

Then finish your journey in the Essence zone where you can choose your favourite treat to be smothered in warm liquid Cadbury Dairy Milk.
