Harry Hill turns back the clock as he leaps out of the frying pan and back into the fiery arena of stand-up comedy.

A few deft nods to TV Burp and You’ve Been Framed should please recent converts. However, much of the material here harps back to the humour of The Harry Hill Show.

When the laughs land, his routine sizzles with surreal glee. Yet there are moments when Sausage Time is more akin to an old banger.

As Harry laments towards the end of the show: “I’m a 48 year-old man, trying to get laughs with a baby’s belt on a baguette.” As he frequently demonstrates, he is capable of so much more.
