Group workouts

For some people fitness comes easy, but for most of us motivation can often be an issue. That’s where group exercise classes come in. Loads of studies have shown how working out in a group is proven to keep people going and keep them coming back for more.

The beauty of classes is that you keep on going because of the encouragement of those around you, but you also get to do things at your own pace.

At the BCLT centres, the range of classes available is wide enough to suit all fans of group exercise. They’ve got the world famous LES MILLS™ suite, including BODYPUMP, BODYATTACK and RPM (the LES MILLS spin on group cycling.)

Some sites offer yoga - a great class for people that want a holistic workout for the mind, body and soul.

Throw in Pilates, Functional Training group sessions in the gym, Zumba, pool-based Aqua classes, sessions for the over 50s and many more and you’ve got a range of activities that’s difficult to beat.

Steven Darby, BCLT’s Regional Fitness and Group Exercise Manager, said: “People love our classes and just keep coming back for more. Sometimes that’s because they like a particular teacher, but mostly it’s down to them loving being with other people all with similar goals, working hard, laughing and enjoying their fitness and leisure time with us.

“We’re so confident people who try our classes will come back for more that we offer all new customers a 7-Day-Free-Pass to see what all the fun’s about!”

Birmingham Community Leisure Trust Partnership Director, Jamie Bryant said: “Our members love boditrax™! The reports show people changes in their bodies that their eyes can’t see.

“Seeing numbers go up like muscle mass, or go down like metabolic age is proving such a great motivator for people. Small improvements are detected by boditrax™ and this is really helping our members keep on track with their fitness. And on top of that, it comes free with gym memberships.”
