City legal eagles from Mills & Reeve are set to take 400 runners in Birmingham’s biggest Business Challenge at the 10K race on Bank Holiday Sunday (May 1).

The 25-strong team of lawyers are hoping to raise £1,000 for Digbeth-based homeless charity SIFA Fireside – the firm’s nominated charity for 2016/17.

More than 30 firms across the city have signed up for the Business Challenge, making it the biggest ever.

The effort is being co-ordinated by trainee solicitor Emma Noble and associate Philip Hutchinson.

Emma said: “Team Mills & Reeve boasts a range of abilities, from pro-runners to those who have never even run before and will be happy to just finish!

“It’s going to be a real challenge but it’s for a very worthy cause.”

Last year a Mills & Reeve firm raised £2,500 for The Birmingham Crisis Centre.

More than 7,000 people are expected to take part and this year’s event has music at its heart with special warm up and starting waves for fans of either 70s, 80s, 90s or 00s music.

City legends UB40 have been unveiled as honorary starters and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Connie Talbot will be singing as runners head off from Jennens Road from 11am.
