The former Chief Secretary to the Treasury has a strong majority and is 100/1 on with Ladbrokes to hold onto it in the General Election .
He took the seat in a by-election in 2004 after being identified as a strong candidate.
Last time round he secured 52 per cent of the vote, with Tariq Khan of the Lib Dems the next closest.
This time round, Ladbrokes is projecting UKIP as the next most likely, at a fairly unlikely 25/1, with the Liberal Democrats considered a 66/1 chance.
