A total of 24 business have now confirmed they will participate in the fourth annual Colmore Business District (CBD) Food Festival.

Restaurants such as Purnell's and Opus will take their places alongside pubs the Old Joint Stock and Metro, cafés Yorks and Urban Coffee Company and newcomers to the area Pure Bar & Kitchen, Chung Ying Central, Isaacs and The Bureau.

All of the participating eateries are located within a 10-minute walk of Victoria Square where the festival is being held on July 18 and 19 and they will serve food, wine, ales, cocktails and coffees.

There will be a programme of live demonstrations including a culinary collaboration between Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purnell and David Colcombe from Opus and cocktail making demos from Ginger's Bar and The Jekyll & Hyde.

Chefs will also receive assistance from two, as yet unannounced, special guests from the silver screen for a demonstration next Saturday.

The festival will also feature live music courtesy of the Birmingham International Jazz & Blues Festival, a specially commissioned piece from The Young Rep, street theatre and performances from CBD's Colmore Chorus choir across both days.

The event is run by Colmore Business District Business Improvement District which was established to deliver improvement projects and services to the business quarter of Birmingham.
