Nissan’s Teatro for Dayz concept may look like the old Cube hatch. But it has an interior you can customise – as well as what Nissan says is a hitherto unseen degree of connectivity.

The cabin features a large digital instrument panel which displays navigation info when the car’s being driven. When it’s parked, however, the whole panel switches to arty mode – and starts displaying pictures chosen by the owner.

This is mimicked by the dash, seats and even door trims, all of which can be set up to show your choice of photos or even video content.

Something you won’t see, though, are any traditional knobs and switches. There is a steering wheel, but everything else is operated using voice and gesture control.

Nissan calls the Teatro for Dayz ‘an indication of what people will expect in the future.’ It will make its public debut at the Tokyo show later this month.
