Black Friday is coming to the UK's forecourts this year, as French car maker Renault announces £500 off its small cars until the end of the month.

The US-inspired shopping day is often associated with flat screen televisions and supermarket scrums.

Now car makers are getting on board, with Renault offering £500 off certain Renault Twingo, Renault Clio and Renault Captur cars between now and the end of November. The offer applies to models bought through PCP, when the £500 will be taken off the deposit amount.

Meanwhile, Renault's budget brand, Dacia, is joining the Black Friday rush with £300 contributed towards a deposit on Sandero, Duster and Logan models, according to the brand.

Car accessories are also available to motorists on Black Friday, with Halfords offering discounts on its motoring accessories and online retailers such as eBay and Amazon offering Black Friday discounts aimed at car drivers.

Black Friday is originally an American tradition, falling on the day after Thanksgiving each year. Retailers usually offer discounts on a masses of products in an attempt to persuade you to spend your hard earned in the run-up to Christmas.

But UK retailers have jumped on the bandwagon in recent years and have offered discounts on their ranges.
