• In-depth entertainments listings with links to ticket-booking services
  •  Easy commenting via Facebook log-in
  • Stunning picture galleries
  • Refreshed mobile website for your news on the go
  • Great new home for blogs and opinion on the home page

The first thing regular users will notice is that the site is now less cluttered with bigger and better pictures.

We’ve taken the advice you’ve given us on reader surveys and created a site that’s specially tailored for what you want.

You told us that you wanted to see a greater emphasis on new and recently updated articles.

In response, you’ll now see that the date or time an article was published is now more visible on every page.

You also told us that finding it easier to navigate around the site was really important, so we’ve simplified the site structure to help you find what you’re looking for more easily.

Our popular network of columnists and bloggers will now be easy to find on the home page on the new Business Opinion carousel.

We’ve also added more topic pages so that stories about a single person, organisation or subject are grouped together in one place.

One of our favourite new features is the full-screen picture galleries, which are mobile and tablet friendly. You can view one of these in this article here .

We think it really showcases our images.

Our mobile site has also been given a refresh because we know that’s how a lot of you want to get your news.

Our great new what's on listings service , powered in partnership with Planvine, allows you to find things to do near you – from classical concerts to the latest pub gigs we’ve got the best showcase of what’s on in Birmingham.

Plus you can find previews, reviews and great content from our team of what’s on writers combing the city to bring you the best in Birmingham’s entertainment and arts scene.

We’ve added a Stay Connected hub at the bottom of every page to make it easy for you to get in touch with us: whether you want to send us a story or enquire about advertising, the Stay Connected hub is the best place for you to reach out to our team.

If you had a profile on the old site you’ll notice that the registration process has changed too and because of the site refresh you will need to re-register.

We’ve made it much quicker to sign in, with fewer questions as part of the registration, allowing people to comment far more easily.

Joining the new Birmingham Post community could not be simpler: just visit an article page and select the “Login with Facebook” option.

Sign in with your social media account and you’re in. If you’re struggling with how to log in and comment, there is a step-by-step guide on how to comment on the new site.

You can also sign up for our daily email newsletter to receive the best West Midlands news in your inbox every day.

So why have we made these changes?

We wanted to make the Birmingham Post website more tailored to you and what you wanted, based on your feedback.

We also wanted to make it more accessible from your mobile.

At the same time we wanted to create a website that’s more enjoyable, informative and up to date.

We hope you agree.
