Private viewing of the new Staffordshire Hoard Gallery at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery

Sir Albert Bore, Leader, Birmingham City Council; Sadia Shafique, Lord Mayoress of Birmingham; Councillor Shafique Shah, Lord Mayor of Birmingham; Les Sparks OBE, at the private viewing of the new Staffordshire Hoard Gallery at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.

Special guests were treated to a private viewing of the new Staffordshire Hoard Gallery at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.

Principally funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to create a permanent home for the Staffordshire Hoard in the West Midlands, the new gallery will enable visitors to learn more about this incredible treasure, from its Anglo-Saxon warrior history, to the ongoing conservation techniques used to unlock its secrets today.

This is the largest permanent display dedicated to the Staffordshire Hoard where there are hundreds of pieces on show.
