Former defence minister and West Midlands MP Lord Gilbert has died aged 86.
The Labour peer was a defence minister from 1976 to 1979 when he was an MP and again in the Lords in the first two years of Tony Blair's premiership from 1997 to 1999.
He was an MP for Dudley and Dudley East from 1970 to 1997 and also served as a Treasury and transport minister in the 1970s.
Lord Speaker Baroness D'Souza told peers that he died on Sunday.
