Golf pros and stars from sport and entertainment are preparing to tee off at Nailcote Hall from July 26 to 29.

The competition is in its 83rd year and organisers say this year’s event will be the strongest yet.

F1 legend Nigel Mansell swapping racing tracks for fairways to make his debut in the competition.

He is being joined by the likes of darts star Eric Bristow and – with a nod to the forthcoming Rio Games – Olympic medal heroes Gail Emms, Derek Redmond, John Regis and Mark Foster.

Iconic goalkeepers Peter Shilton and Peter Schmeichel are set to go head to head, along with other ex-professionals including John Hartson, Kevin Davies, Dean Saunders and Danny Gabbidon.

From the world of cricket there will be Geoffrey Boycott and Mike Gatting OBE.

Coronation Street favourite William Roache and Sky TV presenter Max Rushden are also preparing for the Championship.

And fans of Strictly Come Dancing may be lucky enough to spot Len Goodman or James Jordan practising their swing.

Boy band superstars Keith Duffy from Boyzone and Brian McFadden, formerly of Westlife are also preparing to tee off.

The professional line up will see two time major winner, Hall of Fame member and the most successful European Ryder Cup captain of all time, Tony Jacklin CBE, return to host for the ninth year.

He will be joined by Ryder Cup players Peter Baker, Phillip Price, Paul Broadhurst, Edoardo Molinari and David Gilford.

The event further includes Open winner Paul Lawrie, Masters champions Ian Woosnam, US Open winner Michael Campbell, Sky Sports presenter Nick Dougherty, defending champions Barry Lane, and the most decorated amateur of all time Gary Wolstenholme MBE.

They will be in the company of a variety of other European Tour professionals such as Tommy Fleetwood, Simon Dyson, Robert Rock, Gary Boyd, Daniel Brooks and Justin Walters.
