A Black Country firm which provides specialist security staff has been acquired by an East Midlands company.

Bilston-based Securit Midlands, which is owned by Frazer Tranter, has been acquired by Nottingham company Securit East Midlands.

The latter is owned by Rick Cooke who used to train with Mr Tranter for the World's Strongest Man competition

Aldermore provided a £700,000 invoice finance facility and a £85,000 advance to Securit East Midlands.

Mr Cooke said: "When I decided to buy Frazer's business, I expected it to be a difficult process and I worried about the impact it might have on my clients but Aldermore did most of the work and it was all up and running in less than a week.

"Increasing property prices are creating huge opportunities for Securit as it is driving demand for security at high end show rooms.

"The instant access to funds that Aldermore's invoice finance provides means I can pitch for much bigger projects than I could in the past which has really speeded up our growth."

Regional director at Aldermore Chris Meldrum added: "Both Rick and Frazer were long standing Aldermore customers and ran very strong businesses so when Frazer decided to sell his business to Rick we were delighted to help."
