Jaguar Land Rover has revealed record-breaking UK sales figures of more than 100,000 last year.

Despite huge growth in China, the UK remains the number one market for the car giant after a 22 per cent rise in sales in its home country last year, to 100,787.

That came after Land Rover UK registrations reached a new all-time high of 76,837 vehicles, an increase of 19 per cent and surpassing last year's figure of 64,544 vehicles.

Jaguar was up 30 per cent with 23,950 registrations in 2015 versus 18,401 vehicles in 2014.

Jeremy Hicks, managing director at Jaguar Land Rover UK, said: "Selling over 100,000 cars in a year is a remarkable achievement for the Jaguar Land Rover business and our retailer partners.

"We have our strongest, most exciting product line-up to date and a single minded focus to get these amazing cars to more customers than ever.

"2015 saw Jaguar Land Rover reaffirm its position as the UK's largest premium automotive manufacturer with further investment, growth and job creation.

"This year we will bring more new products, open more retailers and continue to grow our Fleet and Business operation, we are all very excited about 2016."
