A Warwickshire property lawyer has become a trustee of the area's largest independent grant maker.

Lucie Byron, a commercial property expert with law firm Wright Hassall, has joined the board of trustees of the Heart of England Community Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting communities based action across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.

The foundation receives the money from a variety of organisations, including many local businesses which want their donations to remain local and make a difference to communities across the region.

The Heart of England Community Foundation identifies the greatest needs across Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire and advises where that money can be best spent.

Ms Byron, who joined Wright Hassall last year, said: "The foundation does great work in supporting some very worthwhile projects and I am looking forward to really getting involved.

"My only previous connection with the charity was abseiling off the top of a tall building so hopefully being a trustee will be less nerve-wracking."

Paul Belfield, chair of the trustees, said: "Wright Hassall have always been great supporters of the foundation and it is really good to have Lucie on board both for her expert knowledge and her enthusiasm."

The Heart of England Community Foundation manages a variety of funds which are given as small grants to groups and projects which are mostly volunteer led.
