Birmingham barristers' set St Ives Chambers has voted to take on two barristers, William Douglas-Jones and Tom Harrill, at the successful completion of their pupillages.

Mr Douglas-Jones and Mr Harrill are the latest additions to St Ives, which is now made up of 64 full-time tenants and six door tenants.

Since starting pupillage in October 2013, both have undertaken an intensive period of training have been handling their own cases since April.

Head of chambers Nicholas Cole said: "Will and Tom have proved themselves during the last year and we are delighted that they have accepted the invitation to join chambers at the successful completion of their pupillage.

"On behalf of all members of chambers I would like to wish them the best of luck throughout their career at St Ives. I have no doubt that they will flourish."

After initially training for six months under the supervision of senior members of chambers, both spent their second six months undertaking a range of work in an a variety of areas of law, including family, crime, civil and housing.
