Solihull-based Meridian Private Client has recruited two new solicitors.

Vicki Bennett joins from West Midlands-based Higgs & Sons whilst Liliana Mahon has moved from Shoosmiths.

Both will be advising individuals and families on estate planning (including wills), powers of attorney, trusts, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning.

Meridian Private Client partner Philip Harrison said: “The new appointments will help us to build our business by providing additional experienced and specialist private client advisory capability.

“After ten years of successful growth, the additional resources will assist us in providing the best possible personal service to clients as well as adding resources that will assist us in winning new business.”

Mr Harrison added: “Our strategic aim is to grow further from the excellent platform we have built to date and the appointments of Vicki and Liliana are our latest move aimed in this direction.

“Long-term tax planning and asset protection continue to be vital for many families and growing asset values combined with political uncertainty suggest that this will not change in the years ahead.”

The new appointments follow on from two high profile appointments at the firm last year. Jon Croxford, a tax planning specialist, joined in June and is already a partner while Peter Gate moved from a London firm.

Meridian, which is based at Little Packington, near Solihull, was formed a decade ago this year.
