A new law firm is finding its feet in Solihull.

Meridian Private Client was launched late last year by Drummond Kerr, a former Birmingham-based partner and national head of private client services with Cobbetts.

He was joined by Sarah Mochan and Lisa Homer, former associates with Cobbetts, who will be partners in the new enterprise, and Sue Capstick, formerly senior probate manager with Sydney Mitchell's Shirley office, as a non-solicitor associate.

Meridian will advise clients on estate planning - principally tax planning for high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs - wills and probate, trust creation and trust administration.

Mr Kerr said: "We have dared to be different and I do not know of any other similar practice in the Midlands.

"It was a bold step leaving our previous firms but we felt we could offer a better service to clients through a niche, specialist practice. I am delighted that our views appear to be shared by our clients, as the level of work and new clients have far exceeded our expectations."
