Firms and individuals from the Midland legal sector are being given a final reminder to submit their entries for next year’s Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards.

Today is the final day for award entries, with the event taking place at Birmingham’s ICC on March 19 2015.

Nominations are open to both members and non-members.

This year’s categories include Trainee Solicitor of the Year, Barrister of the Year, Chartered Legal Executive of the Year, Paralegal of the Year, Assistant/Associate Solicitor of the Year, International Lawyer of the Year, Partner of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility and Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year, Law Firm of the Year (sole practitioners and firms up to 4 partners), Law Firm of the Year (5-15 partners), Law Firm of the Year (16 plus partners).

There is also a special Lifetime Achievement award, which recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution to the region’s legal profession.

Eileen Schofield, president of Birmingham Law Society, said: “With the deadline fast approaching we’re looking for people to come forward and nominate their firms, colleagues or even themselves.

“We are particularly looking for nominations in the Corporate Social Responsibility and Pro bono Lawyer of the Year and International Lawyer of the Year categories. Many lawyers generously give their time to various charitable organisations, who rely on their free legal counsel, and we want to recognise this. Equally, we want to recognise those lawyers who through their work help promote Birmingham and the wider region as a centre of legal excellence on the international stage.”
