Browne Jacobson’s managing partner Iain Blatherwick has been unanimously re-appointed for a further three years by the firm’s 96-strong partnership.

The firm has grown considerably since Mr Blatherwick took over its strategic direction and development from Brian Smith in May 2009.

During his stewardship he has seen the firm achieve a record breaking turnover of £50.2 million as well as overseeing the opening of new offices in Manchester and Exeter and, more recently, the relocation of its London office.

He has also spearheaded the firm’s Lexcel re-accreditation and a three-star “exceptional” client service rating from Investors in Customers.

The firm has also seen investment in infrastructure across all areas of the business.

Overall headcount has increased by more than 50 per cent to over 800 staff across its five office network.

Senior partner Derek Bambury said: “Browne Jacobson has been transformed under Iain’s strong leadership.

“Whilst there are many people who have contributed to that success it is fair to say that Iain has been one of the prominent forces behind the consistent and highly successful growth realised by the firm.

“We are very lucky that someone of Iain’s skill, wisdom and tenacity is at the helm to take us forward as we aim to continue to grow and strengthen the business over the next three years.”

Mr Blatherwick added: “I am very grateful to receive the partnership’s full support for another term.

“The firm’s successes to date could have not been achieved without the incredible hard work of our people and continued support of our clients.

“I am looking forward to working with all my colleagues to continue to deliver the firm’s vision.”
