A commercial litigation specialist is joining the Birmingham office of national law firm Freeths.

Louise Wilson joins the firm as a partner in the dispute management team after 14 years at Gowlings WLG in Birmingham.

She has particular expertise in dealing with professional negligence claims and corporate governance, having advised the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy regarding the conduct of directors.

Her experience includes acting for commercial clients and pension funds in respect of negligence claims against their advisers and dealing with actuarial and investment negligence claims.

Richard Coates, partner and head of dispute management in Birmingham, said: "As the department goes from strength to strength, it's vital that we attract the best legal minds in the business and we are delighted that Louise has joined Freeths.

"Louise's appointment will enable us to continue building on the firm's successes."

Ms Wilson added: "This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious and progressive firm that is expanding quickly, not only in Birmingham but also nationally, and I'm looking forward to helping further develop the dispute management portfolio across the city and beyond."
