The employment team from Midland law firm FBC Manby Bowdler is hosting a breakfast briefing focusing on the latest legislative developments affecting employers at the Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton on September 22.

The event will review key developments in employment legislation set to affect employers and experts will also be providing tips and guidance.

Topics include examining the introduction of the national living wage from April next year as well as tougher new penalties for breaches that have recently been announced.

Holiday pay will also be on the agenda following a recent case that indicates voluntary overtime is now also likely to be included in calculating holiday pay, plus updated guidance on the pitfalls to avoid when dismissing employees based on their social media activity.

Amber Bate, a solicitor with FBC Manby Bowdler’s employment department said: “These sessions are designed for all employers, human resources personnel and anyone involved in managing staff at any level.

“We will discuss the key changes in employment legislation and recent cases that are likely to affect employers and advise on the best ways to minimise the risks to their business.

“Previous attendees have said the briefings are excellent and easy to understand. The employment team will also be on hand to tackle questions on specific queries anyone may have.”

The session, which includes a light breakfast and refreshments, will open at 8am for an 8.30am start. Attendance is free but places need to be reserved before September 14 by emailing marketing@fbcmb.co.uk.
