FBC Manby Bowdler has advised the Newell Palmer Group on its 34th acquisition.

The Midland IFA, which was established in 1993, has three principal offices across the Midlands in Wolverhampton, Bromsgrove and Nuneaton and employs 120 staff.

Its latest acquisition, of Oxfordshire-based Jenner Financial Management, is the first of four planned for completion in the next six months.

Newell Palmer has seen significant growth over the last five years, during which time its funds under management have more than quadrupled to £650 million.

Its financial director Kevin Homfray said: “We have worked with the team at FBC Manby Bowdler for many years and they have supported us on at least half of our acquisitions to date.

“With our acquisition of Jenner Financial they again demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of what our requirements were and understood how we work.

“This made the whole experience straightforward and with further deals in the pipeline it has provided the reassurance that we have the best legal advisors in our team.”

Kam Johal, partner in the corporate team at FBC Manby Bowdler in Wolverhampton who led on the deal, added: “The team at Newell Palmer is a pleasure to work alongside.

“Simply, they know what they want to achieve and are focused on the job in hand.

“With more acquisitions in the pipeline we look forward to working with them much more during 2015 and the coming years.”

Newell Palmer works with Birmingham-based Ortus Group, which is charged with identifying like-minded firms, approaching them for possible acquisition and then brokering the subsequent negotiations.
