National law firm Trowers & Hamlins is expanding its Birmingham office, moving two partners and a solicitor from London to the Midlands and increasing the number of solicitors in the office by 23 per cent.
From this month, Trowers & Hamlins will have a dedicated public sector commercial team in its Birmingham office, led by partner Amardeep Gill with support from solicitor Louis Sebastian.
Mr Gill, who has several years’ previous experience working in Birmingham, is a local government and public sector expert specialising in advising local authorities on major transactions and projects.
He has spent a decade involved in leading pathfinder projects, including public/private partnerships, joint ventures, shared service initiatives, trading companies, governance, service delivery models, mutuals and PFI and EU procurement matters.
Projects and Construction partner Andrew Vickery will also be based full time in the West Midlands from April, joining his Birmingham construction colleagues to further bolster the firm’s national projects and construction practice.
Mr Vickery has particular expertise in development work both in the private and public sectors, as well as extensive experience advising on construction contracts, development agreements, framework structures, public procurement, district heating and asset management contracts.
He is also the joint author of TPC 2005, the standard form term partnering contract.
Jeremy Hunt, managing partner of Trowers & Hamlins’ Birmingham office, said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome our colleagues to Birmingham. Having Amardeep, Andrew, and Louis on the ground here will help us better meet the needs of our clients across the region and support those based further afield through our national teams.”
Trowers & Hamlins opened its Birmingham office in summer 2011, adding to its national network of offices in Manchester and Exeter and international network of five offices across the Middle East and Far East.
From its Midlands office, the firm provides clients with a variety of legal services, with particular expertise in real estate, procurement, construction, regeneration, property litigation, and employment.
