Business and finance adviser Grant Thornton in Birmingham is continuing its growth with the recruitment of six people to its audit team and several more set to follow in the weeks ahead.

The recruitment surge comes as the office’s audit and corporate tax teams report new work wins with a value in excess of £500,000 in the last eight weeks alone.

Year to date, fee income has grown by 15 per cent on the same period last year.

Joining Grant Thornton’s audit team are Alex Finch and Josh Reader from Deloitte, Sneha Morjaria from Baker Tilly, Ciara Sugden from Crowe Clark Whitehill, Eamonn McInerney from Bloomer Heaven, Amy Jones from KPMG and Laura Tomlinson from Barlow Andrews.

In addition Natalie Gladwin was promoted to senior manager at the start of the year in recognition of her continuing progress and the portfolio she now delivers.

Becky Eagle, an audit director who joined Grant Thornton in 2012, said: “Grant Thornton is able to offer a strong blend of a fantastic working environment, an exciting and diverse client base and a rewarding career path and as a result we are attracting some of the region’s top talent. We have four additional people joining over the coming weeks and we remain on the lookout for more new recruits as our business continues to grow.”

Dave Munton, regional managing partner, added: “We are seeing a significant increase in the amount of high quality work we are tendering for and winning and that has meant that we are investing continually in new people.

“Our passion for working with entrepreneurial and growing mid-sized businesses is resonating strongly with the market and our pipeline across all services shows no sign of softening.”
