Richard Harvey Smith has joined AFH as a senior portfolio manager with additional responsibility for business development and recruitment.

He joins AFH from WH Ireland where he was regional director and head of the Birmingham office.

Mr Harvey Smith will be joining AFH’s recently launched wholly owned subsidiary St Johns Asset Management, a premium service aimed at current and potential AFH clients with larger investment portfolios.

He said: “AFH is one of the fastest growing financial services firms in the UK.

“I have been particularly impressed with the company’s values and culture and am excited to be involved in a business that is focused on long-term profitable growth and will be a challenger to the traditional wealth management market.

“In my role at the newly-launched St Johns Asset Management I look forward to being instrumental in the next stage of AFH’s evolution.”

Alan Hudson, CEO at AFH, added: “Richard’s appointment marks a significant development for AFH and signposts that we are not just an IFA consolidator but have a strategy to compete within the wider wealth management arena.

“He has excellent experience, is already established in this market and we are delighted that he has chosen to join us.”
