Financial services firm Mazars has appointed two new partners in its Birmingham office.

Louis Burns is an auditor who joined Mazars in 2010, specialising in the development and delivery of external audit services to multinational and listed businesses as well as significant inbound referrals.

He leads the business development activities in relation to small and medium listed businesses in Birmingham and other parts of the Midlands.

Vesko Petkov is a corporate tax partner and, prior to joining Mazars three years ago, he worked for Bureau Veritas Group, Inspicio and Deloitte.

Mr Petkov leads the firm's corporate and international tax offering across the Midlands while also working to develop further the corporate and international tax practice nationally and internationally.

Across the UK, Mazars has promoted a total of five staff to the partnership while a sixth is transferring to the UK from Singapore.

Birmingham office managing partner Lee Cartwright said: "This is well earned recognition of the hard work put in by Louis and Vesko and the significant contribution they have made to our growth in the Midlands."

Following these appointments, Mazars UK now has 130 partners and over 1600 staff.
