Barclays Bank has appointed a new relationship director for its operations in Birmingham.

Ian Reynolds has joined the bank's mid-corporate team and will have responsibility for a portfolio of clients with a turnover in excess of £5 million.

Mr Reynolds has been promoted from the role of assistant director in Barclays' large corporate team.

He said: "I am pleased to have been given the opportunity in this role.

"I am looking forward to having my own portfolio of clients and helping them to realise their business goals and ambitions.

"This is a varied and diverse economic geography and I look forward to playing my part in supporting and developing the local economies."

Graham Nicoll, who heads up Barclays' mid-corporate team across the Midlands, added: "I am delighted that Ian is taking on the relationship director role permanently as his experience structuring larger corporate transactions will be a real benefit to the broader team.

"At Barclays we are focused on how we develop our internal talent and seeing people progress their careers over the years is testament to this concerted effort."
