Professional and financial services firm KPMG has appointed Simon Clark as a partner within its Birmingham office.

Mr Clark has more than 19 years' financial services experience and moved from the firm's Manchester office to Birmingham in 2008 to service the Midlands marketplace.

He works with financial institutions such as Paragon Group, Unity Trust Bank, Cambridge & Counties Bank and Al Rayan Bank.

Part of the firm's 50-strong financial services team based in Birmingham, he provides assurance and advisory services.

The announcement comes as the firm celebrates its 100th year in the city, with more than 40 partners and 1,400 colleagues based at One Snowhill which is the firm's largest UK office outside London.

Midlands regional chairman Mike Steventon said: "Simon's promotion reflects the strength of our financial services team in the city and our on-going commitment to provide a comprehensive menu of services to a sector showing impressive and consistent signs of growth.

"More financial organisations are choosing Birmingham as a hub for their operations, such as HSBC and Deutsche Bank, and the size and expertise in our team leaves us well placed to support the sector long-term."
