A security business has secured a new £50,000 finance facility as it targets turnover of more than £500,000 in 2014.

Birmingham-based Nationwide Security Alliance, which has been trading since 2009, provides services such as key holding, dog handling and patrols at schools and business across the Midlands.

It has secured the new funding from the Birmingham office of Positive Cashflow Finance and is on target to grow turnover from £450,000 last year to £550,000 in 2014.

It said it had seen an increase in demand for mobile security patrols at clients' premises during periods of the night rather than having 24-hour on-site security.

Director Angie Whitehouse said: "In the past, we have been cautious when growing the business as we haven't had the added comfort of having a funding facility in place.

"This facility gives us that comfort. It has also taken the strain away from chasing outstanding payments allowing us more time to meet with our clients and further develop the business."

Paul Varley, regional sales director at Positive Cashflow Finance, added: "Nationwide is a great example of a company with huge growth potential being held back by a lack of funding.

"We are delighted to be involved with Angie and the rest of the team and look forward to assisting the growth of the business over the next few years."
