Financial services firm KPMG has appointed a new director of its sales and marketing operation in Birmingham.

Andy Youngman will focus on strengthening its team of client relationship specialists operating throughout the Midlands from the firm's Snowhill office.

He will be tasked with identifying, winning and retaining new business prospects while maintaining relationships with the firm's existing client base.

Mr Youngman joins KPMG from Lloyds Banking Group where he spent 35 years and most recently was area director for commercial in Birmingham.

He is also a director at Birmingham Science Park Aston and in 2009 participated in the first sitting of the House of Commons' West Midlands Regional Select Committee.

He said: "I've joined a team that is known throughout the industry for the quality of its service and I'm confident that my experience within the sector will complement the existing team, enabling us to achieve many more successes in the months and years to come."

Midlands regional chairman Mike Steventon added: "Andy joins us to lead our sales team here in the Midlands and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.

"His proven track record in identifying, securing and retaining clients here in the Midlands will support our ongoing growth as we help our clients navigate through a range of key business challenges."
