Industrial plug and socket distributor CEENorm has expanded with the acquisition of rival CableCaddy.

The Telford-based company has nearly 25 years of experience and works with electrical suppliers such as Bals Elektrotechnik, Hensel and Haupa.

Kent outfit CableCaddy is a distributor of portable power products and was formed in 1993 following the acquisition of the Marcaddy business from MK Electric.

CEENorm said the acquisition would enable it to grow its product range to supply portable power solutions.

The Shropshire business was represented by Ruth Murday, from Dudley-based Hawkins Hatton Corporate Lawyers, and Brian Bates, from Shrewsbury accountancy practice Bates and Co.

The buyout was backed by HSBC which was represented by Colin Rodrigues, from Hawkins Hatton.

Mr Bates said: "The purchase was an obvious choice for CEENorm. The complementary product range will assist the growth of the group in the coming years."
