Health and well-being group BHSF has acquired The Newhall Medical Practice.

It is the seventh buyout by Birmingham-based BHSF since 2012 as it seeks to grow its occupational health division to provide nationwide coverage.

Newhall provides occupational health and other medical services and it also has a private GP service and a travel clinic at its city centre premises in Newhall Street.

It is led by founder Bryan Fehilly who will remain with the business following the deal.

BHSF group chief executive Peter Maskell said: "We are very pleased to have acquired such a successful business which will strengthen our occupational health proposition and give us greater presence in the marketplace.

"We are looking to acquire further suitable businesses in order to achieve a truly nationwide occupational health service."

BHSF said no redundancies were as a result of this deal and it expected to see expansion opportunities.

BHSF can trace its roots back to the formation of the Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund in 1873 and offers services such as health insurance and brokerage.
