A digital festival held at the ICC in Birmingham proved so successful a deal has been agreed for the venue to host the event for the next three years.

The ICC hosted the Jisc Digital Festival in March and organisers have since revealed plans to take over the entire venue to create a bigger event next year.

Jisc is the UK’s expert on digital technologies for education and research. In addition to four keynote addresses, the festival offered workshops, surgeries, panel discussions, expert speakers and live demonstrations of the latest education technology.

The ICC’s in-house technical team worked with Jisc to come up with innovative digital presentations using a Dynamic Image Projection System and HD projector.

The festival vibe was reinforced with floral arrangements in wellington boots decorating each table and fairy lights adorning the dining hall.

James Elston, sales director for the ICC said: “We are delighted to have signed a three year deal with Jisc and look forward to working with them again next year to make their event even more successful.”
