The Birmingham base of UK PR agency Citypress has appointed Kate Macnamara as its new associate director and co-head of its office in the city.

She joins from Goodyear Dunlop where she was the UK & Ireland communications manager and is also a former PR director and head of Grayling Midlands.

During her time there, she advised clients such as Jaguar Land Rover, Deloitte and Business Birmingham.

With more than 15 years of experience, Ms Macnamara will lead the Citypress Birmingham office and join the growing agency’s leadership team.

Martin Currie, managing director of the agency which is headquartered in Manchester, said: “Kate has an ideal mix of integrated communications experience, very relevant sector and regional expertise, as well as that rare vantage point of seeing PR from both agency and client-side.

“Her appointment will strengthen our leadership team at a time of significant growth for the agency and add value to clients across our network.”

Ms Macnamara added: “Citypress is seeing strong demand for professional communications support from companies and brands in the Midlands.

“The region is performing well in terms of attracting inward investment and its manufacturing and export sectors are growing.

“I’m looking forward to helping to build the agency’s presence in the region and working with colleagues across the UK on national campaigns.”

The appointment follows Citypress’ move to a new, larger office in Newhall Street last year following a period of growth.
