Earlier this week, the Post reported on the burgeoning social media phenomenon called Brumpic.

The website and Twitter account @brumpic show off some great pictures of Birmingham from times gone by which it sources from Britain From Above, The Library of Birmingham and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Above is our second gallery featuring photos taken by John Ball and Phyllis Nicklin dating back to a time when pedestrianised streets were a strange concept and street vendors sold their wares at the old Bull Ring market.

We have collated some of Brumpic's best photos for a special digital supplement which can be viewed on the Birmingham Post's free app for iPad and iPhone - download it here.

The gallery above is our second collection and click through to learn more about Brumpic and see the first gallery.
