PR and advertising agency Connect has been appointed by renowned Birmingham furniture company Lee Longlands.

The Wolverhampton-based agency is carrying out a brand overhaul and store re-launch programme will also have sole responsibility for campaign planning and execution.

Connect has been working with Lee Longlands since 2007 and was invited to participate in the pitch process for the opportunity to work on new projects, with extended scope, for the furniture retailer.

Under the new partnership, Connect will handle marketing, PR, social media and digital for the client, effectively uniting all the needs of the company under one banner.

The corner stone of the brief will be to move Lee Longlands from a traditional showroom retail model, to a fully digital integrated enterprise.

Robert Lee, director with Lee Longlands, said: "We have worked with Connect for the last seven years and have trusted them to promote and elevate our brand, which they have done successfully in whatever we’ve thrown at them. This was the natural next step."

Rob Hampton, chairman of Connect Group, added: "I am delighted that Lee Longlands has made the decision to work with Connect to reposition the brand and transform its traditional retail business in to a world-class digital enterprise.

"Over the next five years, I am confident Connect will be a major contributor to the successes that will benefit Lee Longlands across all of its channels."
