Creative agency Clevercherry has bolstered its senior team with the appointment of a former professional American football player as client services director.

James Brazier, who played for Birmingham Bulls and Berlin Thunder, brings a broad range of sales and marketing experience to the Jewellery Quarter agency, having worked across Europe and the US.

Mr Brazier combined his passion for the sport with a marketing degree to manage media, web and marketing for Sports Travel Tours for four years, before relocating to Germany, where he managed commercial content for Germany, Poland and Russia at Booking.com.

He moved back to the UK following the birth of his first child and spent two years working with Sutton Coldfield agency WAA before joining the NEC Group to develop The Ticket Factory business.

During his time there, he brought in new contracts from the Lawn Tennis Association, the London and National Pet shows and the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury.

Mr Brazier said: "I'd already visited Clevercherry and knew some of the team before I was approached and asked to join their ranks and it was a very appealing opportunity.

"I love the pace of the agency and the opportunity to work with a group of passionate, talented people in a buzzing environment was one I was keen to pursue.

"My role is to help grow the business further. The past year has seen Clevercherry create some fantastic work and win some terrific accounts and awards."

Managing director Nigel Wilson added: "I am delighted James has joined us.

"He's already proved himself to be a passionate and driven member of the team and I'm confident Clevercherry will continue to grow with his input.

"The business is absolutely buzzing this year, having recently won a string of new projects and accounts and will be relocating to a larger, more central premises in Birmingham this summer."
