Pictures: Digbeth prepares for City of Colours

Latest additions to festival as organisers await the first large-scale street art festival to be held in Birmingham

Digbeth is set to become a mecca for fans of street art this weekend as it hosts the first City of Colours festival.

In preparation ahead of the big event on September 6, street artists have been displaying their wares on walls and any other vacant space they can find around the district including renowned exponents such as Inkie, Loch Ness and Dale Grimshaw.

Organisers estimate that about 5,000 people will attend the 10 venues which are running workshops and demonstrations with children also encouraged to attend and learn not just about art but dance, DJing, photography and printing.

Among the venues taking part are The Custard Factory, bar Alfie Birds and live music venue The Arena.

The Post has taken a tour of Digbeth to capture the very latest additions to the street art which can be seen in the gallery above.
