Birmingham marketing and communications agency S&X has been rebranded and is now called GUNG HO.

Directly translated from the Mandarin for ‘Work Together’, the agency claims GUNG HO is designed to reflect its ‘reputation for creativity and collaboration, driving its integrated offer’.

The new name and identity is the result of brand development aimed at reinforcing the philosophy of the company, underpinning its growing national and international profile.

Founded as S&X in 1999, the agency has doubled its number of employees since 2011, and recently took part in the Goldman Sachs’ prestigious 10,000 Businesses programme, which helped the agency develop an ambitious growth plan.

Current clients range from sports brands including Speedo, New Balance and Canterbury, Birmingham shopping centres Pavilions and The Fort, as well as Motionhouse Dance Theatre, sports nutrition brand Powerbar, and Start Rite children’s footwear, to name a few.

S&X becomes GUNG HO as it moves into larger Jewellery Quarter premises on Newhall Street, which features a bespoke design concept based on upcycling.

The agency has also secured brand new office space in London, where a permanent team will be based, helping the agency to more effectively serve its national and international clients.

GUNG HO managing director, Paul Phedon, said: “The launch of GUNG HO and our new brand identity is designed to better reflect our philosophy of dynamism, dedication and teamwork, whilst underpinning our growth in the consumer lifestyle sector.”
