A rail products company has expanded its footprint on a Birmingham industrial estate.

Solo Rail Solutions, a tier-one supplier of rail vehicle doors and interior products, has taken an additional 25,000 sq ft unit on Long Acre Trading Estate.

The warehouse will house stock materials and the company's clean assembly operations.

The property comprises an industrial/warehousing unit, 3,534 sq ft of ancillary office accommodation and associated car parking.

As part of the deal, a full refurbishment of the units was agreed with the landlord A&J Mucklow.

The Birmingham office of property consultancy DTZ agreed the deal which has taken the estate to full occupancy.

Jonathan Robinson, from the agency's industrial agency team, said: "The transaction illustrates the growing demand we are experiencing for centrally located, quality warehouse premises for the reinvigorated manufacturing sector in the region.

"Long Acre Trading Estate is very well located with easy access to junction six of the M6, which in turn provides access to the national motorway network."

Dave Hunt, managing director of Solo Rail Solutions, added: "Location, working area and decent offices were the main criteria in selecting additional premises for our Birmingham operation.

"Mucklow's refurbishment package was delivered promptly and allowed us to be operational within three months as promised.

"Having a clean assembly environment with excellent employee conditions is working well for our clients and staff at Long Acre which means our organisation will be kept on track with its expansion plans."
