Serene Furnishings is expanding its footprint at a Black Country business park.

The company, which was launched in 2005, will soon occupy 158,331 sq ft at the Hill Top Estate, in West Bromwich, after signing a deal for an additional 35,300 sq ft.

The move is needed to accommodate a new range of products it is planning to unveil at a trade exhibition at the NEC in January.

It will make Serene Furnishings the largest tenant on the estate, which is owned and managed by London & Cambridge Properties (LCP), when it completes the expansion next month.

Director Nadirah Habib, who runs the firm with husband Tasleem Tasab, said they were now looking to take on up to four new staff to add to its 40-strong payroll which supplies more than 700 retailers across the UK.

She said: "We've had to take on bigger units as the company has grown and this new range that we are going to stock means we need even more space.

"We've been at Hill Top since 2008 and have moved to different warehouses on the estate whenever we have needed it, which is great because LCP has been able to accommodate us."

Andrew Preston, industrial property manager of LCP who negotiated the move, added: "We're pleased to help Serene Furnishings, which has been a tenant of ours for six years.

"They were keen to stay on the Hill Top estate because it is a convenient location for the business and we were able to negotiate terms for the new space quickly."
