Property consultancy Savills has expanded its urban design and masterplanning team in Birmingham with the appointment of Simon Williams-Tinkler.

Mr Williams-Tinkler is an architect and urban designer with more than 15 years of experience gained in both the UK and Europe.

He joins Savills from John Thompson and Partners where he worked on urban extensions and masterplanning schemes.

Having worked across several sectors including commercial, education and healthcare, he now specialises in the residential and mixed-use sector and joins the agency as an associate.

The urban design team has 12 designers including public realm, graphic design, architects and landscape specialists

Planning director in Birmingham Michael Davies said: "Simon joins our team at a time of major expansion.

"We recruited three retail planning experts this year and Simon's appointment  further broadens our skill base in Birmingham."

Elsewhere, Louise Fassnidge has joined property agency CPBigwood in Birmingham as technical manager.

A member of the Institute of Residential Property Management and an associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, she joins from Mainstay Group where she spent 13 years.

Technical manager for the past seven, she specialises in asset management, complex budget structures, legal structures and developing client relations in particular in the London area.
